Our holiday activity days give local children the opportunity to come and have fun and get active during the school holidays.
​​Unforgettable Summer Adventures for Children Aged 8–14
​
Looking for something exciting and different for your child to do this summer? Our Summer Holiday Activity Days are packed with fun, adventure, and unforgettable experiences—all set in the stunning surroundings of the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) and on our beautiful 16 acre site.
​
We have four activity days taking place over the summer holidays and you can choose between activities that take place on our site or activities that take place offsite in the hills, rivers and caves nearby.
​
Each day is an opportunity for children to have fun, unplug from screens, build confidence and create lasting memories—all while being guided by qualified, experienced instructors.​​
Offsite activities:

Canoeing - journey down a beautiful river or canal in our local area.

Rock Climbing - climb real rock faces in the South Wales mountains.

Gorge Scramble - explore wild rivers and waterfalls.
-
Caving - discover hidden underground wonders.

* Please note that occasionally we need to
change our offsite activities on the day due
to the weather conditions or water levels.​

Onsite activities:

High Ropes Course – take on thrilling challenges high above the ground.

Low Ropes Course – perfect for problem solving and confidence-building.

Climbing Tower – scale new heights with routes for all skill levels.

Paddle Boarding – enjoy balance and fun on the water.

Zip Wire – soar through the air for an adrenaline-packed ride.

Everyone will need to bring a packed lunch, snacks, water bottle and a change of clothes. Please see the full kit list here.

Each group will have a maximum of 10 children and will be lead by a fully qualified instructor and accompanied by an additional adult. Longtown Outdoor Learning is fully licensed to provide adventurous activities and all of our team are DBS checked. ​​
Please be aware that our activity days may not be appropriate for all of those with additional needs, and young people who attend must be in mainstream school without additional support. If your young person has additional needs, please get in touch with us directly rather than booking online so that we can work together to see if we can adapt activity to meet their needs.
